WFIR in Illinois reports that Rockford Public Schools Dist. 205 suffered a ransomware attack that caused the widespread outages that began Friday. The district is not sharing details about what type of ransomware or how much ransom was demanded — and whether they have paid it. But schools remain open while the district continues to work to recover from the attack and uses alternate phone lines and manual attendance-taking. You can read the district’s full letter to parents on WFIR.
